About Us

Staff + Board

The mission of Children’s Cove is to provide coordinated and comprehensive multidisciplinary services to child victims of sexual/serious physical abuse and their families.

Our dedicated staff is committed to reducing the trauma endured by child victims, promoting accountability, fostering healing, and advocating on behalf of child victims of sexual abuse and physical abuse.

 

Staff

Stacy Gallagher, Director

Stacy brings over 25 years of experience in working in various roles with children of all ages and backgrounds who have traumatic abuse histories. As the Director of Children’s Cove and a trained forensic interviewer, she is able to understand and help navigate both the human services and legal perspectives of child abuse cases. Stacy believes that child abuse prevention is everyone’s responsibility.  It takes an educated and involved community to protect our children.  Email Stacy

Beth Mitchell, Deputy Director

Beth moved to Cape Cod from New Hampshire in 2017 and right away began working with children across the Cape. Beth has over ten years of experience working with children and their families in various roles.  Beth believes that every child deserves a safe place to grow and flourish to reach their full potential. Kathy Fayerberg, Clinical Program Manager

Kathy has worked over 15 years on the Cape working with children and families in different therapeutic roles.  With a background in social work, Kathy believes it is crucial to support children and families in developing connections to community resources.  Kathy believes that people are much more than their trauma and believes in the importance of supporting children and families during difficult times so that they can go on to have happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.  Email Kathy

Jacob Stapledon, Community Engagement and Education Program Manager

Jacob grew up on Cape Cod and has worked in a variety of human services and education roles in his career.  Jacob believes that prevention education is the key to combating child sexual abuse, and that early intervention and care after abuse makes strong and resilient adults.  Email Jacob

Nancy Raymond, Administrative Assistant

Nancy, a Cape Cod resident since 1970, was a stay at home mom until she reentered the working world in 1998. Nancy has been with Children’s Cove since July of 2005. Nancy sees the importance of having a child advocacy center like Children’s Cove where children who have experienced abuse can safely and comfortably disclose their story and begin their path of healing.  Email Nancy

Lauren Ackles, Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator

Lauren grew up on Cape Cod and has focused her studies and career in the human services field. Lauren is passionate about being an advocate for children and working towards creating a safe and stable community environment for children to learn and grow.  Email Lauren

Anna Colby, Child Exploitation Program Coordinator

Anna grew up on Cape Cod and has a background in education. She has worked in a variety of school systems and has a passion for the human services field and being an advocate for child safety. Anna believes that prevention education and community connection is the key to creating a safe and happy environment for all children. Email Anna

Heidi Friedel, Community Programs Coordinator

Heidi grew up on Cape Cod and has dedicated her studies and career to enhancing family support and child development. Through her work in therapeutic mentorship, she educates and guides children, teens, and families toward personal growth. Passionate about advocating for children and educating the community, Heidi is committed to creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments where individuals can thrive. Email Heidi

Sheena Miller, Mental Health Coordinator

Sheena originally grew up in Florida but joined the Cape & Islands community looking for a way to make an impact. Sheena’s career as a clinical social worker has been to support the mental health and resiliency of children in a variety of settings. Sheena is excited to be a part of a team focusing on the healthiest outcome of children, and supporting the mental health needs of the community we serve. Email Sheena

Vicki Bice, PediSANE

Vicki is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner with demonstrated work in a number of placements across the country. Vicki comes to us with extensive experience in pediatric medicine. Email Vicki
