Teen TASK Force

What is the Teen TASK Force?

Children’s Cove Teen TASK (Taking a Stand for Kids) Force is a group for high school students who raise awareness for the programs and services of the agency. The mission of the Teen TASK Force is to engage teens by empowering them to advocate for Children’s Cove and to educate their peers on child abuse issues. Teen TASK Force members will meet throughout the school year learn about issues facing our community, as well as complete a project to raise awareness in their school and community.

Why do we have a TASK Force?

1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday and 90% of those child victims will never disclose their abuse. As a part of the central mission of Children’s Cove is to raise awareness in the community through education, the Children’s Cove Teen TASK Force identifies, trains and supports teen peer leaders in our Cape Cod & Island community who can be a trusted confidant to those who may not seek out support from adults, caregivers or authorities and spread the word about this epidemic in their school and community.

Who should get involved?

If you are a high school student on Cape Cod who wants to:

  • make a difference in your school and community.
  • will be a sophomore by the next full school year.
  • commit to meeting monthly for six months (December to May)
  • participate in future activities involving Teen TASK Force and Children’s Cove.

Then the Teen TASK Force may be a fantastic opportunity for you! Connect with us to see how to get Teen TASK Force into your school, or, learn who are your current Children’s Cove Ambassadors!
